New 2025 Nissan Micra Electric: the supermini that conquers the city
The Nissan Micra arrives with an electric version based on the Renault 5, combining modern design, efficiency, and driving fun.

Looking at the new Nissan Micra, it’s easy to think you’ve seen it before. Beyond some exterior design changes, this electric hatchback is mechanically identical to the Renault 5. With this approach, Nissan aims to attract a younger audience, moving away from its old “grandma’s car” image. With a refreshed design and driving dynamics that promise to be fun and comfortable, the Micra positions itself as a competitive urban electric supermini.
Design and technology: modernity in every detail

The Micra retains much of the Renault 5 DNA, with exterior changes limited to redesigned headlights, adjusted bumpers, and minor body modifications. Inside, it features a 7-inch digital driver display and a 10.1-inch infotainment screen, while higher trims offer a dual 10.1-inch screen setup. Interior space matches the Renault 5, providing comfort in the front row, although rear legroom is more limited.
Regarding range and performance, Nissan offers several battery options: 40 kWh models reach 319 km, while 52 kWh versions achieve 418 km. Fast charging up to 100 kW is competitive for its segment, and efficiency is rated at 4.1 mpkWh, although highway range drops slightly. Power outputs are 121 hp or 148 hp, with the top version accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 8 seconds, ideal for urban driving and secondary roads.
Fun and efficient driving
The chassis, developed by Renault, ensures the Micra is agile in the city and comfortable on rural roads. Its acoustic insulation is excellent, and the suspension balances comfort with a touch of sportiness. Standard features include a heat pump, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, USB-C ports, and 18-inch wheels, while higher trims add a rearview camera, adaptive cruise control, wireless phone charging, and heated seats.
Conclusion: a small, efficient, and appealing electric car
The Nissan Micra Electric is a fun-to-drive, comfortable, and technologically advanced supermini, although it falls slightly short of the Renault 5 in terms of styling. With similar pricing, the choice largely depends on aesthetic preference, but there’s no doubt the Micra offers efficiency, safety, and adequate performance to stand out in the competitive urban electric car market.
