McLaren ‘Project Viva’: The Bespoke 750S Spider that Captures the Essence of Las Vegas

By  |

McLaren Special Operations (MSO) has unveiled the “Project Viva,” an exclusive 750S Spider designed as a rolling tribute to the Las Vegas Grand Prix and the spectacle of “Sin City.”

This unique bespoke model, which maintains the mechanical specifications of the 750S, is distinguished by a custom paint scheme and personalized details that set it apart from the rest of the lineup. MSO describes it as a “sketch in motion” that merges craftsmanship with the city’s narrative.

The Hidden Art in the Paint

The body combines Muriwai White with a new shade called Vegas Lights. This black finish was specifically created for this car and contains flecks of cyan, magenta, and green, which simulate the shifting glow and neon of Las Vegas.

Hand-painted elements add layers of reference to the city and the brand’s rich history:

  • Founding and Legacy: A pair of dice commemorate the founding years of Las Vegas (1905) and McLaren (1963).
  • F1 Glory: Ten stars, painted on the rear bumper by current F1 drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, celebrate the firm’s 10 Formula 1 constructors’ titles.
  • Tribute to Bruce McLaren: The design incorporates an image of the Muriwai Trophy, won by Bruce McLaren, and a depiction of his 1970 racing helmet.
  • Las Vegas Iconography: A series of neon arrows referencing the city’s iconic signage, an outline of Nevada on the right-hand side, and a cactus motif are integrated into the surrounding artwork.

Details That Make the Difference

MSO’s attention to detail extends to a sign under the rear wing that reads “Fabulous,” inspired by the city’s familiar welcome sign.

“Project Viva captures what McLaren Special Operations is all about – pushing beyond convention to create something truly personal,” said Jonathan Simms, MSO Director.

Enthusiasts in Las Vegas can view the car at the McLaren Experience Center, located at the Wynn Las Vegas Hotel, from November 13-20.
