Longbow Speedster: The British Electric Sports Car Set to Revolutionize the Market
Under 1,000 kg, up to 450 km range, and only 150 units: an electric car designed by ex-Tesla and Lucid engineers
The British automotive industry has long been renowned for its small, lightweight sports cars, delivering unmatched driving sensations without relying on massive engines. Now, the start-up Longbow, founded by former Tesla and Lucid executives, aims to revive this philosophy with a fully electric two-seater, a segment even historic manufacturers like Lotus have yet to explore.
Speed and efficiency in one package
The Longbow Speedster weighs only 895 kg, and its rear-mounted electric motor allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds. Combined with its low weight, this ensures agile cornering and handling. While not the fastest EV on the market, its efficiency is impressive, achieving a WLTP range of 442 km, thanks to a compact but optimized battery pack.
Inspired design and exclusivity
The Speedster draws inspiration from the Ferrari Monza SP2, boasting a striking, modern, and sporty design. The windshield-free version requires a helmet for road use, while a Roadster model with a fixed roof will offer added comfort and a range of 460 km per charge. Only 150 units will be produced, ensuring exclusivity for early buyers.

Pricing and availability
The Speedster is already available for pre-order in the UK at £84,995 (approx. €96,847), while the Roadster will cost £64,995 (around €74,000). Deliveries are scheduled from 2027, with initial sales planned for the UK and Europe, before expanding to other markets. Longbow offers both versions with left- or right-hand drive, catering to different driving preferences.
Innovation and vision for the future
Longbow’s focus goes beyond power and design, prioritizing efficiency and driving enjoyment in a lightweight, dynamic electric car. Their approach demonstrates that performance, range, and sporty excitement can coexist in an EV, keeping the British tradition of lightweight, thrilling sports cars alive.
