Lamborghini Temerario Super Trofeo: the wild bull returns to pure power
The new beast from Sant’Agata Bolognese breaks away from electrification trends and embraces a purely mechanical experience. Lamborghini has unveiled the Temerario Super Trofeo, a race-only version that completely abandons hybridization, bringing back the purest essence of motorsport: raw power, lightness, and rear-wheel drive.

A new Lamborghini without hybrid power: made for purists
At a time when electrification dominates the automotive world, Lamborghini has chosen to keep tradition alive with the Temerario Super Trofeo, a car built exclusively for the track. This version ditches the hybrid system found in its road-going counterpart and adopts a twin-turbo V8 engine with 641 hp, sending all that power to the rear wheels through a six-speed sequential gearbox. The brand has already hinted that a street-legal version with the same configuration may arrive in the near future.
Racing technology focused on performance
The new Super Trofeo shares key components with the Temerario GT3, including the Hoer transmission and a 12-level adjustable traction control system. It also features KW suspension, a Capristo exhaust, and BMC air filters, all engineered to deliver a sharper and more extreme driving experience. Its aggressive aerodynamic design is crowned by a massive rear wing, ensuring both stability and visual drama on the track.
Radical design and lightweight construction
Although Lamborghini hasn’t disclosed the official weight, estimates place the Super Trofeo at around 1,300 kilograms (2,866 pounds) — roughly 390 kilos lighter than the road-going model. The reduction comes not only from removing the hybrid and all-wheel-drive systems but also from stripping away insulation and comfort features. Inside, it boasts an FIA-approved roll cage and a dashboard finished in Dinamica Infinity, an innovative, non-woven synthetic suede used for the first time in the automotive industry.
The legend continues: from track to road
The Temerario Super Trofeo will make its official racing debut in the 2027 season as part of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo one-make series, first launched in 2009. Much like the Huracán eventually evolved into the STO, Lamborghini is almost certainly preparing a future street version based on this machine. There are even rumors of a Sterrato-style off-road variant joining later on. With the Temerario Super Trofeo, Lamborghini proves that there’s still room for race cars with soul, sound, and unmistakable character.
