Kia Unveils New Seltos Generation: More Robust, Technological, and Featuring K3 Platform

By  |

This SUV was conceived as a global strategic product. The new Seltos seeks to elevate segment standards by combining a robust aesthetic with smart solutions.

The sport utility exhibits a more robust and sophisticated visual identity. Its body features a wider stance. In addition, its structured lines and defined surfaces convey solidity and dynamism from any angle. The Seltos measures 4,430 mm long, 1,830 mm wide, and 1,600 mm high. Its wheelbase is 2,690 mm. This optimizes interior space without sacrificing urban agility.

“Star Map” Front End and Style Variants

The front end stands out with a wider grille. This is accompanied by the “Star Map” lighting signature. Furthermore, it displays a dynamic welcome sequence. On the sides, diagonal lines, the floating roof, and defined shoulders reinforce the sensation of movement. At the rear, vertical optics extend over the tailgate. Consequently, they emphasize the vehicle’s width and stability. The range offers two defined personalities: X-Line, with lower protectors and an adventurous character, and GT-Line, with a more sporty and refined aesthetic.

Reworked Cabin and Comfort Technology

Kia completely reworked the cabin. It responds to multiple usage scenarios, from urban commuting to family trips. A low, horizontal dashboard improves visibility. Likewise, it provides a greater sense of spaciousness. The column-mounted Shift-by-Wire system frees up space in the center console. This creates a more open and practical environment. Comfort elements include a panoramic roof and reclining rear seats. It also offers configurable ambient lighting in 64 colors. Moreover, a Harman Kardon or Bose premium audio system is integrated.

K3 Platform and Versatile Mechanical Offer

The new Seltos is based on the latest generation K3 platform. This improves ride comfort. It features greater structural rigidity and better acoustic insulation. In addition, the chassis, suspension, and steering received a refined tuning. The mechanical offering includes three variants. A 1.6 T-GDI engine generates 180 hp and 265 Nm. It pairs with a six-speed manual or 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox. Another 1.6 T-GDI variant offers higher power, up to 193 hp, with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Finally, a 2.0 naturally aspirated engine delivers 149 hp and 179 Nm.

Dynamic Capabilities and Advanced Safety

The availability of all-wheel drive and multilink rear suspension extends its off-road capabilities. The Terrain Mode (Snow, Mud, and Sand) reinforces this versatility. Eco, Normal, and Sport driving options allow vehicle behavior to be adapted. Safety is a fundamental pillar. This generation adds a comprehensive package of advanced driving assists. These include highway driving assist, autonomous emergency braking, and surround view monitor. The Head-Up Display projects key information onto the windshield.

Digital Technology and Global Schedule

In terms of technology, the Seltos incorporates a dual panoramic 12.3-inch screen. It also offers AI assistant with natural language. Furthermore, it includes OTA remote updates and Digital Key 2 for access via smartphone. Global production of the new Kia Seltos will begin in December 2025 in India. It will extend to Korea, North America, Europe, and China throughout 2026. This solidifies its role as a relevant subcompact SUV worldwide.
