Jeep Recon 2026: The Electric Wrangler That Redefines Off-Roading
With 650 HP, 4×4 traction, and a 100.5 kWh battery, the new Jeep Recon combines off-road spirit with advanced electric mobility.

The Jeep Recon 2026 has finally been unveiled in its production version, initially with U.S. specifications, including reduced bumpers and an electronically locking rear differential, though it is still unclear if these features will be available in Europe. Equipped with two electric motors, one per axle, the Recon delivers 650 HP and 841 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 60 mph (0–96 km/h) in just 3.6 seconds, and carries the Trail Rated badge, certifying its extreme off-road capabilities.
Platform, Battery, and Performance

The Recon is built on the STLA Large platform, shared with the Jeep Wagoneer S and upcoming Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio models. Its 100.5 kWh battery provides up to 402 km of range, while the top speed is electronically limited to 180 km/h. 33-inch tires offer 23.1 cm of ground clearance, with carefully designed approach, departure, and breakover angles for off-road obstacles. The throttle is calibrated to deliver torque smoothly and precisely, optimizing control in challenging terrain.
Exterior and Interior Design

The design retains the seven illuminated Jeep slots, U-shaped LED daytime running lights, and reinforced bumpers with recovery hooks. At the rear, it features LED tail lights inspired by the Wrangler, a swing-out tailgate, and a full-size spare wheel. Inside, there are two horizontal screens: a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.5-inch central infotainment display running Uconnect 5. The premium Alpine sound system and front trunk (‘frunk’) with 85 liters of storage enhance functionality and comfort.
With independent suspension on both axles, removal of solid axles, and the ability to take off doors, windows, and the roof, the Recon keeps the Wrangler spirit alive while going electric. Its slightly longer length and shorter wheelbase compared to the conventional Wrangler provide balanced handling, and folding the rear seats offers up to 1,866 liters of total cargo space.
The Jeep Recon 2026 will begin production at the Toluca plant in Mexico early next year, initially for the U.S. and Canada, followed by a global release. With a starting price of $67,000 (approx. €57,800), it represents an innovative offering that combines off-road performance, electric technology, and premium comfort, marking a new chapter in Jeep’s history.
