Genesis 2026: The Korean Electric Revolution Arrives in Spain
Hyundai’s premium brand is launching in Spain with three electric models and its first Magma sports EV exceeding 650 HP. Discover all the latest updates.
Genesis is entering the Spanish market with three previously unseen models: the all-electric compact GV60, the family-oriented GV70 Electrified SUV, and the luxury G80 Electrified sedan. The GV60, measuring 4.52 meters long, offers 228, 318, or 490 HP, a 77.4 kWh battery, and up to 561 km of range. Meanwhile, the GV70 Electrified delivers 490 HP with a 455 km range, and the G80 Electrified positions itself as a competitor to the Audi A8, BMW 7 Series, and Mercedes-Benz S-Class, offering 370 HP, 700 Nm, and 475 km of range.
Magma: Genesis’ First Electric Sports EV
The Magma sub-brand marks Genesis’ entry into high-performance electric vehicles. The GV60 Magma will deliver between 650 and 700 HP, utilizing a mechanical setup similar to the Hyundai IONIQ 5 N, updated to maximize performance. The battery is expected to be 84 kWh, providing around 450 km of range, while exterior upgrades such as a rear spoiler, larger air intakes, and widened wheel arches emphasize a bold, sporty look.
Advanced Technology and Cutting-Edge Design
All Genesis models feature meticulously designed interiors, including 27-inch digital displays, high-quality leather, and advanced technology, with bidirectional charging and all-wheel drive in most variants. The GV70 and G80 Electrified include dual electric motors, 800-volt architecture, and fast-charging capability, delivering a premium EV driving experience comparable to top European brands.

GV90 and Genesis’ Vision for the Future
Although it may not arrive in Europe immediately, the GV90 represents Genesis’ largest innovation yet. Built on the Hyundai IONIQ 9 E-GMP platform and measuring approximately 5 meters long, it will offer four-, six-, or seven-seat configurations. Its interior is expected to feature a unique dashboard with an elevated central display, setting a new standard in design and luxury for Genesis.
Arrival in Spain and Market Strategy
The year 2026 will be pivotal for Genesis in Spain, with the official launch of three models and the upcoming debut of the first Magma sports EV. The Korean brand aims to combine electric technology, high-performance driving, and premium design, competing directly with BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Audi, and establishing itself as a bold and innovative alternative in Europe’s luxury EV market.
