Citroën Basalt T200 Dark Edition 2025: The Most Exclusive Version of the French Crossover Arrives in Argentina
The double chevron brand strengthens its B-Segment lineup with a model that blends striking design, full equipment, and modern powertrains.

Citroën has officially launched the new Basalt T200 Dark Edition 2025 in Argentina — the top-of-the-range version of the crossover introduced earlier this year. Imported from Brazil, this model takes a step up in sophistication, offering distinctive styling details and a clear focus on drivers who want to stand out in the city while enjoying efficiency and everyday practicality.
A bolder design paying tribute to André Citroën
The main highlight of this Dark Edition is its unique look. Citroën has given the Basalt a sportier and more expressive character, adding “André Red” accents, a striking shade that pays homage to the brand’s founder. It also features 16-inch black alloy wheels, a rear roof spoiler, black-painted mirrors, and satin-finish trim on the lower sections of the front and rear bumpers, reinforcing its urban and elegant appeal.
Mechanically, the Basalt T200 Dark Edition keeps the same configuration as the Shine version. Under the hood sits a Fiat-sourced 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbo engine, producing 120 hp and 200 Nm of torque, paired with a CVT automatic transmission with seven simulated gears and front-wheel drive. This setup strikes a balance between efficiency and performance, making it ideal for both city driving and suburban commutes.
More exclusive… and also more expensive
One of the downsides is the price. While the Basalt was originally introduced in January as one of the most affordable cars on the Argentine market, the new Dark Edition is now the most expensive in the range, putting it outside the budget-friendly rankings. However, it compensates with a distinctive design and a full equipment package that will appeal to Citroën enthusiasts.
In terms of pricing, the lineup is structured as follows: Basalt VTi 115 hp Live: ARS 29,680,000; Feel: ARS 31,590,000; T200 Shine: ARS 35,560,000; and T200 Dark Edition: ARS 36,040,000. All versions include a three-year or 100,000-kilometer warranty, ensuring the brand’s backing. With this launch, Citroën strengthens its position in the competitive B-Segment, betting on more exclusive variants to complement its mainstream offering.
