Argentina leads regional electrification with the Captiva PHEV
Chevrolet has launched the pre-sale of its new Captiva PHEV 2026, the brand’s first plug-in hybrid SUV in South America. This launch coincides with Chevrolet’s centennial in Argentina and strengthens the company’s strategy to promote sustainable mobility in the region. According to Andrés Carfagna, Commercial Director of GM Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay, “Argentina will be the first market in South America to receive this model”, positioning the country as a pioneer in adopting new energy technologies.
Powertrain and range: efficiency without limits
The Captiva PHEV combines a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with a 20.5 kWh electric system, delivering 204 hp and 310 Nm of torque. This setup allows a range exceeding 1,000 km, perfect for long trips without relying solely on fuel stations or chargers. This makes the SUV a versatile option between traditional vehicles and full-electric models, ideal for those seeking efficiency and flexibility.
Exterior and interior design: modern and functional
The SUV stands out for its sporty, urban aesthetics, featuring a High Gloss black grille, projector-style LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, and black-accented roof. The rear includes full LED lights and an electric tailgate, while the interior offers eco-leather seats, multifunction steering wheel, panoramic sunroof, and digital air conditioning. Its 2.8-meter wheelbase ensures space for five passengers and a 532-liter trunk, ideal for long trips and family use.
Safety and advanced technology
The Captiva PHEV comes with comprehensive safety features: six airbags, stability control, 360° camera, hill start assist, downhill control, and tire pressure monitoring. Additionally, it incorporates the Chevrolet Intelligent Driving (ADAS) system, which includes autonomous braking, forward collision alert, and adaptive cruise control, combining safety with intelligent driving assistance.
Warranty and leadership in e-mobility
Available in gray, blue, pearl white, and sand, the Captiva PHEV offers a three-year or 100,000 km vehicle warranty and an eight-year or 150,000 km battery warranty, reinforcing confidence in Chevrolet’s electric mobility offering. With this model, the brand expands its electrified portfolio and strengthens its leadership in innovation and sustainability in South America, making Argentina the starting point for a new era of smart mobility.
