The automotive world welcomes a new elite player: the Capricorn 01 Zagato, a hypercar with Italian DNA and a racing soul. Born from the collaboration between the German Capricorn Group and the historic Milanese coachbuilder Zagato, this masterpiece is a functional sculpture that pays tribute to pure driving. Powered by a supercharged 5.2-litre V8 engine producing over 900 horsepower, weighing under 1,200 kilograms, and priced at nearly three million euros, it’s a machine built for true purists.

A Nod to the Past with Formula 1 Technology

The Capricorn 01 Zagato goes against today’s trend of digital screens and driver aids. Its philosophy is simple: maximum connection between driver and machine. Built entirely from carbon fibre, its monocoque chassis draws inspiration from LMP1 Le Mans prototypes, combining extreme lightness with rigidity. The pushrod suspension and Bilstein dampers adjustable in three modes (Comfort, Sport, and Track) deliver precision handling both on road and track. Power is sent exclusively to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual gearbox, achieving 0–100 km/h in under 3 seconds and a top speed close to 360 km/h. Every detail has been designed to deliver raw, unfiltered sensations — just like the race cars that inspired it.

The design, created by Norihiko Harada, is a statement of timeless elegance. The 01 Zagato avoids excessive aerodynamic add-ons, instead relying on intelligent airflow management with a flat underbody and integrated surfaces. Gullwing doors, mirror stalks mounted on the front fenders, and muscular, taut proportions give the car the elegance and drama expected from an Italian icon.

Inside, the 01 Zagato pays homage to the golden era of motoring. There are no touchscreens or digital menus — only three analogue gauges, a centrally mounted rev counter, and fine materials such as carbon fibre, titanium, aluminium, and Connolly leather. The longitudinally adjustable gear lever ensures perfect ergonomics, evoking the spirit of classic racing machinery. The cabin blends functional minimalism with Zagato’s hallmark craftsmanship. Each unit will be hand-built and fully customisable, from the exterior finish — including exposed carbon options — to interiors trimmed in Alcantara or natural leather. The car will be sold exclusively through Belgian luxury specialist Louyet Group, and will be homologated for Europe, the UK, Japan, and the Middle East.
