Audi Q5 2026 e-Hybrid: The Zero-Emission Option That Outperforms Diesel for Only €1,650
The new generation of the Audi Q5 enters the premium SUV market, offering a plug-in hybrid variant that redefines efficiency and performance.
The 2026 Audi Q5 arrives completely renewed, maintaining its elegance while elevating technology and efficiency. It is built on the new PPC platform. This third generation aims to compete in the heart of the premium SUV market against the BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLC, and Volvo XC60. The Q5 measures 4.71 meters long, allowing it to improve interior space and refinement. Furthermore, the vehicle expands its powertrain lineup with mild-hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and future all-electric options.
Superior Electrified Performance
This is where the Q5 e-hybrid truly stands out. Despite costing only €1,650 more than the TDI diesel, the plug-in hybrid offers an extra 95 horsepower, better overall performance, and the coveted zero-emission label. The system combines a 2.0-liter 252 hp TFSI engine with a 143 hp electric motor. The total system output is 299 hp and 450 Nm of torque.

Zero-Emission Label and Real-World Range
This powertrain allows the Q5 to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.2 seconds and reach 250 km/h. On the other hand, the maximum speed in electric mode is 140 km/h. The vehicle maintains an impressive combined fuel consumption of 2.5 L/100 km. Thanks to a 25.9 kWh battery (20.7 kWh usable), the Q5 PHEV offers up to 113 km of electric-only range in the city. The 11 kW AC charging system allows for a full recharge in just a few hours.
Urban Benefits and Minor Trade-Offs
The hybrid configuration grants the Q5 the DGT’s Zero-Emission label, allowing full access to low-emission zones. Tax benefits and free parking in many urban areas are also obtained. Compared to the 204 hp TDI with the Eco label, the Q5 e-hybrid clearly excels in power, efficiency, and environmental responsibility. The only trade-off is a slightly smaller trunk of 438 liters, compared to 520 liters in the TDI, due to the battery placement. However, the difference in real-world use is minimal when weighed against the technological and sustainability advantages. Therefore, the Audi Q5 e-hybrid becomes one of the most balanced options in its class, offering an extra 95 hp and refined driving dynamics worthy of the brand.
