The Pick-Up with a Roof Tent and Shower That Conquered 5 Countries in 10 Days
The Isuzu D-Max equipped by ARB embarked on an extreme journey across Europe and Africa, putting its endurance, technology, and adventurous spirit to the test.

When it comes to off-road vehicles, few can boast such a complete adventure as the one led by the Isuzu D-Max, specially outfitted by ARB UK, the British division of the renowned Australian off-road accessories brand. To celebrate its 50th anniversary, the company organized an epic expedition that crossed five countries —the UK, France, Italy, Spain, and Morocco— in just ten days, proving that the adventurous spirit is still alive in the age of electrification.
A pick-up built for anything
The D-Max AT35 Basecamp was the undisputed star of this odyssey. Outfitted with OME (Old Man Emu) suspension, a StealthBar bumper with winch, an ARB Ascent hardtop, and reinforced recovery points, this pick-up was ready to take on everything from alpine roads to Moroccan dunes. Its switchable 4×4 system was complemented by advanced functions such as Rough Terrain mode, hill descent control, and hill start assist, ensuring flawless performance on any surface.
Adventure with all the comforts
The journey wasn’t just a mechanical challenge—it was also a showcase of comfort and self-sufficiency. The Isuzu D-Max featured an ARB Altitude rooftop tent, slide-out kitchen with ARB ZERO fridge, Outback drawer system, BASE Rack roof rack, and even a private shower ensuite, a detail that made all the difference in the desert. With this setup, the pick-up became a true home on wheels, ready to cover thousands of kilometers without compromising comfort or functionality.
A shared passion for exploration
Throughout the expedition, members of the Isuzu ARB Hub network took turns behind the wheel, sharing an experience that blended technology, nature, and teamwork. “From alpine passes to desert dunes, we truly put the D-Max and ARB gear to the test,” said Thomas Zuidhof from Bellinger Isuzu. The final and most demanding leg, between Spain and Marrakech, was completed by Hannah Kelsey, Marketing Director at Crawfords Automotive Chelmsford, wrapping up a journey that will go down in the brand’s history.
Isuzu and ARB: Half a century of adventure
With this expedition, ARB celebrates its 50th anniversary by reaffirming its leadership in the off-road world, while Isuzu proves that the D-Max remains one of the most capable pick-ups on the market. Beyond symbolism, this adventure embodies the commitment to innovation, durability, and freedom of movement that defines the greatest names in the automotive industry.
