The Most Powerful Electric Porsche Ever: The 2026 Cayenne Electric Debuts with 1,139 HP
Porsche unveils the 2026 Cayenne Electric, its second electric SUV, establishing itself as the most powerful production vehicle in the brand’s history
Porsche accelerates its transition towards a fully electrified lineup. The brand adds a second electric SUV to its catalog. This is the 2026 Porsche Cayenne Electric. This model is the most powerful production vehicle of all time for Porsche.
The Cayenne Electric will launch with two versions. There will be a standard version and the Cayenne Turbo Electric. The brand insists on using the “Turbo” name for its electric top trim. However, the brand does not seem concerned about this detail, nor do its customers.
Potent Performance in Both Versions
Standard Cayenne Electric buyers will have 402 HP in normal driving. Nevertheless, by pressing the Launch Control button, 435 HP are unlocked. It also offers 615 lb-ft of torque. Porsche fits a dual-motor setup. This means all-wheel drive is standard.
The Cayenne Turbo Electric offers overwhelming power. It delivers 844 HP in normal driving. However, upon entering Launch Control mode, it reaches 1,139 HP. It also adds 1,106 lb-ft of torque. These are gargantuan power figures.
Supercar Acceleration and Regenerative Braking
Porsche claims the 0 to 60 mph sprint takes only 2.4 seconds. Furthermore, a quarter mile can be covered in 9.9 seconds. Cayenne Turbo Electric buyers are close to needing a roll cage. Porsche also guarantees serious stopping power.
The Cayenne Electric can absorb power via regenerative braking. It can reach up to 600 kW. Porsche states that nearly 97% of all braking can be handled by the electric motors. This is good news for the life of your brake pads. Even so, an optional set of Ceramic Composite brakes is offered for the Turbo version.
Chassis and Suspension Technology
The Cayenne Electric promises an engaging and familiar driving experience. The chassis features Porsche’s Active Suspension Management system as standard kit. This equipment applies to both models. Turbo buyers will benefit from the Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus system. Both vehicles can be fitted with rear-axle steering. They can also add the Porsche Active Ride system.
The Active Ride system reduces nose lift during acceleration. It also reduces nose dive during braking. Along with this, it minimizes side-to-side movements felt during cornering. This system is currently found on the Taycan and Panamera.
EV Technology and Fast Charging
The Porsche Cayenne Electric incorporates a 113.0 kWh battery pack. An 800-volt system sits under the skin. It is capable of charging at speeds up to 400 kW. Porsche claims a 10 to 80 percent charge can take as little as 16 minutes. The Cayenne’s range is up to 400 miles on the European WLTP cycle.
The exterior styling treatment of the Cayenne Electric is very similar to the Macan. The rear is rounded off. The front does not land as cleanly as the regular Cayenne. The whole vehicle starts to resemble other SUVs on the road, especially from the profile.

A Clearly Porsche Interior
The cabin of the Cayenne Electric is very much a proper Porsche product. The amount of screen display area is ever-growing. Despite this, the automaker still manages to deliver a cabin that aligns with the brand. The steering wheel feels right. The view over the hood and gauge display works well. The seats appear primed to deliver comfort and support.
The instrument cluster is a 14.3-inch OLED unit. The center features a curved OLED panel. This combines infotainment and HVAC controls. An optional 14.9-inch passenger display is also available. Porsche says that air conditioning and volume controls are analog. Most of the rest of the controls are digital. The Cayenne Electric starts at $111,350. The Cayenne Turbo Electric starts at $165,350.
