New DS Nº8 2025: French luxury, all-wheel drive and up to 692 km of range

The flagship of DS Automobiles arrives with an exclusive “Jules Verne” edition, pushing design, technology and sophistication to new heights.

The DS Nº8 2025 is not here to go unnoticed. Measuring 4.82 metres long, the new model from DS Automobiles positions itself as a direct rival to the Audi A6 e-tron, BMW i5 and Mercedes-Benz EQE, offering a dose of French luxury designed to take on Germany’s finest. With a design that blends the elegance of a classic saloon with the bold stance of a coupé-style SUV, it also challenges the Volvo ES90 and Volkswagen ID.7 Black Edition, standing out through its unique personality and refinement.

Jules Verne edition: elegance inspired by exploration

To enhance its exclusivity, the French marque introduces the “Jules Verne” trim — a special edition that combines cutting-edge technology with exquisite craftsmanship. On the outside, it features 21-inch dark alloy wheels, diamond-effect emblems, and a choice of two refined finishes: Topaz Blue or Crystal Pearl. Inside, the cabin exudes sophistication, with Nappa leather and Alcantara upholstery in Eternal Blue, satin aluminium inserts, and Terre de Cassel beige accents — a tribute to the lunar expeditions described by the author whose name it bears.

Comfort is equally impressive. The DS Nº8 Jules Verne comes equipped with ventilated and massaging electric seats, a laminated panoramic glass roof, heated windshield and steering wheel, and a full suite of high-end features including a Focal 3D HiFi audio system, a 16-inch HD touchscreen, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry and start, and an array of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

Two electric powertrains: 245 hp or 350 hp with AWD

Under the bonnet, the new DS Nº8 embraces full electrification. The entry-level version delivers 245 hp, sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.8 seconds, reaching 190 km/h, and offering an impressive 692 km WLTP range. The AWD version, powered by a dual-motor setup with 350 hp, sharpens performance to 5.4 seconds in the 0–100 km/h sprint while maintaining 646 km of range.

Both variants use a 97.2 kWh battery, which charges up to 80% in 6 hours and 10 minutes using an 11 kW charger, or just 27 minutes via 160 kW fast charging. The system also allows for temporary power boosts, raising output to 281 hp in FWD and 375 hp in AWD configurations — perfect for drivers seeking extra punch when needed.

Price and availability in Spain

The DS Nº8 2025 will arrive in Spain positioned firmly in the premium segment, challenging German rivals with a more emotional and artisanal character. While pricing has yet to be officially announced, estimates suggest it will start at around €70,000 for the base version, climbing to over €85,000 for the Jules Verne edition. With its avant-garde design, cutting-edge technology, and unmistakably French refinement, the new DS Nº8 is set to become a benchmark in the world of electric luxury saloons.
