New Honda WR-V 2026: the compact Japanese SUV aiming to conquer South America
Built in Brazil, the WR-V arrives with more technology, safety, and space than ever. Could it be Honda’s next big launch in Argentina?
Honda is strengthening its SUV lineup in the region with the arrival of the all-new WR-V 2026, a model that completes the brand’s range alongside the HR-V, ZR-V, and CR-V. Produced at Honda’s Itirapina plant in Brazil, this compact crossover blends a bold design with efficient performance and advanced safety systems. Its debut in Brazil marks a key step in the Japanese manufacturer’s regional strategy, and its launch in Argentina seems increasingly likely.
Design and comfort: more space, more technology
The new Honda WR-V stands out for its imposing front end, flat hood, and high waistline, giving it a solid and confident look. At the rear, boomerang-shaped LED taillights connected by a horizontal strip enhance its modern and secure appearance. Inside, a clean, horizontal dashboard design creates a sense of spaciousness, complemented by a 7-inch digital display and a 10-inch touchscreen compatible with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Its 458-liter boot —expandable to 1,466 liters with the rear seats folded— makes it one of the most spacious models in its class.
Powertrain and efficiency
Under the hood, the WR-V is powered by a 1.5-liter DI i-VTEC engine, a naturally aspirated four-cylinder with direct injection that delivers 126 hp and 15.8 kgm of torque. Paired with a CVT transmission featuring a seven-speed sequential mode and Step Shift function, it ensures a smooth, responsive, and efficient driving experience, whether in the city or on long journeys.

Safety and connectivity on another level
One of the WR-V’s strongest points is its comprehensive safety package. All versions come equipped with Honda Sensing, which includes adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, lane departure mitigation, and automatic high beams. Other standard features include six airbags, stability and traction control, hill-start assist, Isofix anchors, a multi-view rear camera, and parking sensors. The top-tier EXL version adds myHonda Connect, allowing users to control key functions through a smartphone app — such as remote engine start, air conditioning activation, maintenance alerts, and vehicle location.
Will it come to Argentina? All signs point to yes
Although Honda has not yet confirmed an official date for the WR-V 2026’s arrival in the Argentine market, everything suggests that the model will soon join the brand’s regional lineup. With its attractive design, comprehensive equipment, and advanced technology, the new WR-V positions itself as one of the most well-balanced and eagerly awaited compact SUVs in its class.
