Ebro S900 2026: Spain’s Most Ambitious SUV to Offer 100 km Electric Range and All-Wheel Drive

By  |

The new flagship SUV from Ebro will feature a plug-in hybrid powertrain, larger dimensions, and a global design with Spanish DNA.

A major leap forward for the Spanish brand

Ebro is preparing to revolutionize its SUV lineup with the highly anticipated S900, a model set to become the brand’s most advanced vehicle yet. While current options include the compact hybrid S400 and the larger S700 and S800 with gasoline or plug-in hybrid engines, the S900 aims to raise the bar in size, technology, and electrification, reinforcing the strategic partnership between Ebro and Chinese automotive giant Chery.

Bigger, more powerful, and ZERO-emission certified

Based on the Chery Tiggo 9 Pro, the upcoming Ebro S900 will exceed 4.80 meters in length and come equipped with a next-generation plug-in hybrid system, offering over 100 km (62 miles) of electric-only range and fully electric all-wheel drive—most likely using dual electric motors, one per axle. This would make it the first AWD model in Ebro’s lineup without a mechanical linkage, aligning with cutting-edge EV architecture and qualifying for Spain’s DGT “Zero Emissions” badge.

Chinese engineering, Spanish execution

As with other Ebro models, the S900 will be built on a Chery-developed platform, tailored for the European market by Ebro’s engineering teams. The SUV will focus on efficiency while maintaining a competitive price-to-features ratio, although its base price will exceed the €36,990 starting price of the current S800, likely entering the market around €40,000 before incentives.

Tested in extreme conditions for maximum reliability

According to the brand, the S900 is in its final stages of development, undergoing rigorous testing in extreme weather, altitude, and terrain. This process aims to ensure the plug-in hybrid system performs reliably under all conditions, a key factor for customers seeking a large SUV capable of long-distance touring and light off-road adventures.

A key model for Ebro’s electric future

Expected to launch in late 2025, the Ebro S900 will be the brand’s most technologically advanced model and a milestone in its modern history. With cutting-edge systems, a combined range potentially exceeding 1,400 km (870 miles), and a commanding design, this SUV is set to challenge rivals from Mitsubishi, Kia, and even Toyota in the electrified D-segment. Most importantly, it aims to stand out as the most ambitious large SUV ever developed by a Spanish brand.
