Porsche 911 GT3 F.A. Porsche: the ultimate tribute to the father of a legend

By  |

Porsche celebrates the legacy of Ferdinand Alexander Porsche with a limited-edition 911 GT3, rich in symbolism, bespoke design and pure driving spirit.

Ferdinand Alexander Porsche is an irreplaceable figure in automotive history. Widely regarded as the father of the Porsche 911, he was also responsible for icons such as the 904 Carrera GTS and the 804 Formula 1 single-seater. To mark what would have been his 90th birthday, the Zuffenhausen-based brand has created a fitting tribute: the Porsche 911 GT3 F.A. Porsche, a special edition that blends heritage, design and high performance into a true collector’s piece.

This exclusive GT3 takes direct inspiration from the 911 G-Body driven by Ferdinand Alexander Porsche during the 1980s, reinterpreted through a modern lens. The bodywork is finished in a bespoke F.A. Green metallic paint, a contemporary evolution of the Oak Green Metallic shade worn by his original car. Every element has been carefully selected to reflect the personal taste of the designer who shaped the 911 as we know it today.

Inside, the cabin is equally special. The interior features an exclusive upholstery known as F.A. Grid-Weave, a modern reinterpretation of the classic houndstooth pattern, along with distinctive details such as a wooden gear-lever knob, a direct nod to tradition and timeless elegance. It is an environment that perfectly blends raw sporting intent with almost artisanal refinement.

This 911 GT3 F.A. Porsche also sets a precedent within the range, as it is the first and only model to wear Porsche’s Sport Classic wheels, complete with bespoke centre caps featuring the classic Porsche crest. The “72” emblem on each door panel references the year Ferdinand founded Porsche Design, while a special gold badge adorns the rear decklid, with a subtle “90” inscription positioned just above it to underline the commemorative nature of the car.

Porsche will build only 90 examples, each priced in Spain at €408,806, and every car comes with a matching Chronograph 1 watch and a themed Weekender travel bag. Based on the 911 GT3 with the Touring package, it is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six engine producing 510 hp and 450 Nm of torque, sending power to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox. One of these cars will go to Mark Porsche, Ferdinand’s son, who stated: “I’m sure my father would have loved this very special 911.” A historically significant, emotionally charged and highly exclusive model, this GT3 stands as one of the most meaningful editions ever created by Porsche.
