Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Hybrid: The Hybrid That Thrills Purists
The new Porsche 911 Carrera GTS proves that hybridization can satisfy regulations and excite even the most demanding drivers.

Hybrid without compromises
Porsche has tackled European regulations with an innovative hybrid system in the 911 Carrera GTS. Featuring a 1.9 kWh battery in the front trunk and a 53-horsepower electric motor paired with the eight-speed PDK transmission, the sports car retains its iconic 3.6-liter flat-six engine, now enhanced with an electric turbocharger that manages boost and can send energy either to the engine or back to the battery.
Power and performance uncompromised
Although it offers no fully electric driving mode and requires no plug-in, the 911 Carrera GTS delivers 532 hp and 449 lb-ft of torque without significant weight gain (just over 100 pounds more than its predecessor). The hybrid system continuously distributes energy to both the turbo and the main motor, providing instantaneous and thrilling acceleration from low to high revs.
Complex technology, simple experience
The power flow is displayed on the infotainment screen, but at the wheel, the system’s complexity disappears: what remains is an incredibly fast, powerful, and engaging sports car, with immediate throttle response in Sport and Sport Plus modes. The only noticeable difference compared to previous 911s is a sharper, less melodic engine sound, which doesn’t detract from the driving experience.
Design and comfort intact

The 992 Cabriolet maintains the rigidity of the coupe, with minimal wind and noise intrusion even with the top down. Daily driving remains comfortable, with precise handling and forgiving suspension, though the brake pedal feels slightly more synthetic than in non-hybrid 911s.
A future that excites
The hybrid 911 Carrera GTS proves that innovation and regulation can coexist with driving passion. Porsche has created a sports car that preserves the brand’s essence and demonstrates that the changes sweeping the automotive industry don’t have to frighten enthusiasts—they can enhance the driving experience and set an exciting course for the future of sports cars.
