New Chevrolet Captiva PHEV 2026: the plug-in hybrid SUV that promises over 1,000 km without refueling arrives in Argentina
Chevrolet enters the plug-in hybrid segment with the Captiva PHEV 2026, a versatile SUV that combines efficiency, power, and record-breaking range.
The Argentine automotive market is rapidly shifting toward electrification, and plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs) are emerging as one of the most attractive options for drivers seeking efficient mobility without relying solely on charging stations. In this context, Chevrolet has announced the pre-sale of the new Captiva PHEV 2026, its first plug-in hybrid SUV in the country — a major milestone in the brand’s electrification strategy.
Plug-in hybrid technology with over 1,000 km of total range
The Captiva PHEV 2026 combines a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine with an electric powertrain fed by a 20.5 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, delivering a total output of 204 hp and 310 Nm of torque. This setup allows it to travel more than 1,000 kilometers without refueling, using the petrol engine on highways and the fully electric mode in urban environments. The battery can be recharged either by the combustion engine or via an external power source, and it supports fast charging (CCS2) as well as AC home charging up to 6.6 kW. From a driving perspective, it features a single-speed DHT automatic transmission and front-wheel drive, ensuring smooth and quiet operation. The Auto Hold function adds comfort in stop-and-go traffic, while the smart hybrid system optimizes power distribution for maximum efficiency.
Modern design and top-tier equipment
In terms of design, the Captiva PHEV stands out for its modern and sporty styling, featuring LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels, and a panoramic sunroof. The cabin, built with premium materials, offers ample interior space and a 532-liter boot, perfect for families or long road trips. Safety is a strong point as well, with six airbags, stability control, a 360° camera, hill-start assist, and a full suite of ADAS features including autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane departure warning with active correction.

Extended warranty and launch in Argentina
Another major highlight is its extended warranty coverage: 3 years or 100,000 km for the vehicle, and 8 years or 150,000 km for the electric battery, underscoring Chevrolet’s confidence in its hybrid technology. The model will be available in four exterior colors — Pearl White, Deep Gray, and Dawn Blue — and will be showcased in Chevrolet’s new “Store in Store” dealership spaces designed exclusively for electrified vehicles.
The pre-sale of the Chevrolet Captiva PHEV 2026 is now live in Argentina, and those interested in learning more about pricing, financing options, and available trims can visit the official Chevrolet Argentina website. Without a doubt, this plug-in hybrid SUV is set to mark a new era in Argentina’s transition toward sustainable mobility.
