INTELLIGENT MOBILITY
Mercedes-Benz Unveils the New Electric GLB: Space for Seven, 629 km Range, and 800V Architecture
The model stands out for its intelligent design, offering space for up to seven people. With a range of up to 629 kilometers (WLTP), the GLB sets new standards for versatility.
The new GLB features a distinctive look that gives it a charismatic and confident aura. The interior has been completely redesigned with high quality. Furthermore, it sets new standards with its new MBUX Superscreen display. The new standard panoramic roof significantly increases headroom in the first two rows.
The vehicle effortlessly adapts to customer needs. Passengers enjoy more legroom in the rear. The second-row seats offer greater comfort thanks to a longer bench and a better angle of inclination. The second-row bench is longitudinally adjustable, which makes last-minute changes easier.
Long-Distance Range and Fast Charging Capability
The GLB 250+ model offers a range of 629 kilometers (WLTP). This allows for the completion of long journeys, for example, from Cologne to Berlin, without the need for stops. Both models feature a lithium-ion battery with a usable energy capacity of 85 kWh.
Charging efficiency is outstanding, as the new GLB employs an 800-volt system. It is capable of recharging up to 260 kilometers (WLTP) in just 10 minutes. It can charge in direct current (DC) with a capacity of up to 320 kW at 800-volt charging stations. It can also use 400-volt infrastructures with an optional current converter. The alternating current (AC) charging capacity is up to 22 kW.

Off-Road Capability, Safety, and Future Versions
The 4MATIC versions are ideal for adventures beyond the everyday. When traction is needed, the electric motor on the front axle engages quickly. 4MATIC models include TERRAIN MODE, a program that adjusts the steering and brakes for off-road driving. The “Transparent Hood” function helps maneuver on rough terrain by showing a virtual view from underneath the vehicle.
The towing capacity is up to two tons, the maximum value for its category. This makes the GLB suitable for towing caravans. Regarding safety, the GLB includes DISTRONIC distance control as standard in Europe. The hardware includes eight cameras, five radar sensors, and twelve ultrasonic sensors. The model range will soon be expanded with additional electric variants and the arrival of high-tech hybrids.
