Jeep Compass Plug-in Hybrid: the electrified SUV that promises up to 1,000 km of range
Jeep launches the new generation of the Compass in Europe with plug-in hybrid technology, more power, greater efficiency and a clear focus on electrification without sacrificing its off-road capabilities.
Jeep strengthens its electric offensive in the European market with the new generation of the Jeep Compass Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV), a model that is already on sale and produced at the Italian Melfi plant, one of Stellantis’ key industrial hubs. This compact SUV takes a significant technological step forward by being based on the STLA Medium platform, specifically designed to accommodate advanced electrified powertrains, with the aim of combining efficiency, performance and versatility.
Off-road DNA with cutting-edge technology

True to the brand’s historic identity, the new Compass does not give up its off-road credentials. It offers 200 millimetres of ground clearance, characteristic approach and departure angles for off-road driving, the Selec-Terrain system as standard, and impressive wading capability. All of this proves that electrification at Jeep is fully compatible with adventure-oriented use, an approach that, in a different context, mirrors the technological evolution seen in Formula 1 with high-performance hybrid systems.
The mechanical setup is one of the strongest points of the new Compass PHEV. It combines a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor to deliver a combined output of 225 hp and 35.5 kgm of torque. Electrical energy comes from a 17.9 kWh battery, enabling the SUV to travel up to 92 kilometres in fully electric mode, a highly competitive figure in the segment and particularly appealing for daily urban driving.
One of the model’s main selling points is its total driving range close to 1,000 kilometres, specifically 983 km combined, when adding battery power and the fuel in the tank. In terms of charging, the system supports fast charging, allowing a full recharge in less than three hours, while a domestic socket takes around seven hours, making everyday use far more convenient.
In terms of size and practicality, the Compass grows to 4.55 metres in length, resulting in a clear improvement in interior space. Jeep highlights increased rear legroom, additional storage compartments throughout the cabin, and a 550-litre boot, figures that position it as a strong family-oriented option. The new Compass PHEV is offered in Europe with a starting price of €45,900, in line with its technological proposition and a market increasingly focused on electrified SUVs.
