Dreaming Big: How We’d Build the 2026 Honda Prelude
The 2026 Honda Prelude offers a sleek hybrid coupe with limited options–but plenty of style and performance for enthusiasts.

Honda’s new Prelude is finally configurable online, starting at $43,195 including the $1,195 destination charge. Despite the limited choices, the car comes well-equipped with Civic Type R front suspension, adaptive dampers, brakes, 19-inch wheels, and leather-trimmed seats. Buyers can choose between the Prelude Hybrid and the Prelude Hybrid Two-Tone, the latter adding a black roof and exclusive White Frost Pearl paint for an extra $500.
Exterior Colors and Interior Options

The exterior color palette is small, with five options–three free: Crystal Black Pearl, Meteorite Gray Metallic, and Rallye Red. Optional paints include Boost Pearl Blue ($455) and Winter Frost ($655). For the interior, buyers can select between standard black leather or a blue-and-white combination. While the Two-Tone trim includes the blue-and-white cabin, the standard Prelude retains a classic black interior that pairs well with most paint choices.
Wheels and Packages
Honda limits wheel choices to 19-inch gloss-black, machined-finished alloys, priced at $2,000 extra, but standard 19-inch Berlina black wheels are included. Available dealer-installed packages focus on protection, such as the All-Season Protection Packages, Cargo Protection Package, and general Protection Package, ranging from $370 to $485. These offer functional upgrades like floor mats, splash guards, and seatback protectors.
Accessories and Personalization
A wide array of accessories allows buyers to customize their Prelude’s look and functionality, including black door mirror covers, gloss-black emblems, tailgate spoilers, front underbody spoilers, illuminated door sills, and interior lighting kits. Pricing for a fully accessorized Prelude Two-Tone with upgraded wheels reaches $48,665, while a more modest build with Boost Blue Pearl, Berlina black wheels, and a few visual enhancements totals $44,755.
Performance and Value
Under the hood, the Prelude Hybrid features a 2.0-liter four-cylinder hybrid producing 200 hp, paired with a simulated eight-speed transmission. While Honda doesn’t offer a manual gearbox, the Prelude still delivers responsive handling and hybrid efficiency. For buyers seeking style, comfort, and modern hybrid technology, the 2026 Prelude strikes a balance between performance, exclusivity, and customization. How would you spec yours?
