Experience High-Class Comfort and a Smooth Ride in the 2023 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy

By  |

One of the first things to catch our attention apart from the exterior design is the 3.8-litre V6 engine, delivering 291 HP mated with an eight-speed auto transmission; more about this later. However, at least for us, the other stand-out feature was the in-dash navigation and great-feeling leather upholstery. Also, did we mention the spacious cabin?

The 2023 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy is a facelift model with a more squared-off design. The new look also comes with an updated wheel design, and the cabin has also received a few updates.

Speaking of infotainment, the 2023 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy comes with a 12.0-inch infotainment display, a freshly designed steering wheel and the best feeling upholstery options we’ve experienced.

What’s New?

Some new features worth mentioning are a Wi-Fi hotspot, heated seats in the third row, and the driver’s seat as a massage feature. In addition, the XRT model joins the lineup with 20-inch wheels, a completely blacked-out cabin, and various other design touches.

Our Take On Its Performance and Confort

The 2023 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy is powered by the latest 3.8-litre V6 engine by Hyundai, mated with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The 291HP offers excellent acceleration for a vehicle of its size. Plus, the steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters are a nice touch, making driving easier.

In our experience, the gearbox shifts smoothly, regardless of the terrain and even when climbing up steep hilly roads. The front wheel is standard, but you can choose the all-wheel drive option. We had the latter and can tell you from our own experience that it is worth having even if you rarely use it.

The 2023 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy also boasts 5000 lbs of towing power, and with the dealer-installed trailer hitch, you have nothing to worry about.

Speaking of power, 0-60mph is just 6.9 seconds, which impressed us, especially since it is one of the zipper vehicles in a class that’s not supposed to be.

Overall interior comfort is excellent. While it isn’t the most premium feeling interior, it’s certainly up there with excellent foot and headroom in the second row. The third row is a little cramped, but its rarely luxurious in the back anyway.

Sound dampening is excellent, so we’d be surprised if you’d hear any road noise or even engine noise. In our experience, the sound dampening adds to the feeling of luxury, which is perfect for long road trips when the sound of the engine can wear you down.

Final Word

The 2023 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy is one of the best vehicles in its class, and it is only getting better with each passing year. That makes us happy because not only does it offer value for money, but its resale has improved in the past few years due to its higher reliability rating. All of which make the 2023 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy a worthy purchase.
