TEST DRIVES
2023 Lexus LC500h, The Silent Killer
I have to admit, I’ve always been a Lexus fan, and the LC has been one of the vehicles I’ve always loved driving. One of the things that people have come to expect from the brand is the smooth, luxurious drive.
One of the things you can always be guaranteed about the Lexus is that it does not make any significant changes to its vehicles. Incremental improvements are what Toyota and Lexus are all about, with the 2023 model being just that. While everything has been carried over from the previous model.
Many people will find that LC500h is a much better choice because of the sporty note that this hybrid bring you behind the wheel
Performance and Handling
The Lexus LC500h is as we previously named a Silent Killer in the road. It packs a 3.5-liter V6, two electric motors and a battery pack that’s mounted between the rear seats and trunk delivers 354 horses to the rear wheels, which is enough for a swift 0-60 mph time of 5.0 seconds. That’s just 0.1 second slower than its V8 LC 500. The sound of the V8, which is insane is of course missing, but the win is in getting 29 mpg combined, 10 more mpg than the non-hybrid.
The LC500h, as you’d expect, drives like a dream. It is uneventful, with no body roll, excellent balance, and great handling on even some of the sharpest roads we could test it on. The variable steering, coupled with the adaptive rear-wheel steering system helps add a bit of spunk to the LC.
Driving the LC500h feels special. It drives great, and you can drive cross country in that beautifully padded seat without worrying about a stiff back.
A Well-Thought of Interior
The 2023 LC500h sports a beautiful interior, which isn’t too different from the outgoing model’s charm. It still boasts of the generous use of premium materials and excellent crafted seats while still loaded with the latest tech. Sure, the ergonomics can take some getting used to, but the overall ambiance is more than what you’d first expect.
Swing over to the back, Lexus boasts of a 5 cubic feet boot, which could have been easy to expand were the seats in the back foldable. Unfortunately, they are not, for some reason. The other thing about the LC is that there aren’t as many cubbies for stashing small stuff.
Connectivity and Infotainment System
The Lexus infotainment system comes packed with several dozen features; most people won’t like the slightly clunky touchpad controller. But in our experience, you soon get used to it, and when that happens, it does not require too much attention to operate it. Additionally, the system supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Final Verdict
The 2023 Lexus LC500h is one of the best sport cars in terms of looks, luxury and reliability. If you’re looking for a vehicle that will run forever, with the highest reliability rating in the luxury segment, nothing beats the Lexus LC500h.
