Our test drive with the 2016 Kia Optima SXL Turbo was amazing. This car has so much to offer that we fell in love with the design, the technology features and his powerful 2.0L Turbo Gas Direct Injection 4-Cyl Engine.

The 2016 Kia Optima SXL Turbo offers you more than safety, great fuel efficiency or a luxury tech package. Driving this car you will be able to add a note of fun to your driving experience.

We drove the 2016 Kia Optima SXL Turbo for 7 days in the Northern Virginia roads and we were so sad the day that our test drive ended that we requested another extra day to find more details that we can add to our review.

In the road the new 2016 Kia Optima SXL Turbo is responsive, safe and confortable.

The 2.0-L Turbo Gas Direct Injection 4-Cyl Engine is modified from last year and output is rerated at 245 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. The hard work in outright turbo compressor flow for quicker low-end response shaves 29 hp and 9 lb-ft. The turbocharged engine provides plenty of power, and when the roads get curvy, the suspension is up to the task of putting a smile on your face. The gearing in the new model’s six speed automatic is marginally shorter in the first four gears and helps push our SXL Turbo test car from 0 to 60 mph in just 6.5 seconds.

Our friend Jessica McCann’s horse decided not to race our KIA Optima SXL Turbo after finding out that there were 245 ponies hidden under the hood.

Outside this car is finished with a gorgeous Horizon Blue and a dark tinted dynamic bending panoramic sunroof, HID Headlights with Auto-Leveling System, Sport LED Rear Tail Lights and 18” Alloy wheels. This Kia screams a luxurious exterior design, with notes of power and curves in all the right places.

Our 2016 Kia Optima SXL Turbo was outfitted with the interior features that include Dual- Zone Automatic Temperature Control with rear vents, the impressive Harman Kardon QLS Premium Surround Sound, the navigation system with 8” rear-camera display that includes SiriusXM Satellite Radio with a 3 FREE months subscription and Bluetooth Wireless Technology and the dynamic bending panoramic sunroof helps a lot during the sunny days. The driving experience is enhanced with the Front Collision Warning System (FCWS), the Blind Spot Detection System (BSD), the Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), the Rear Parking Assisting System (RPAS), the Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), the Autonomous Emergency Braking System (AEB), the Advanced Smart Cruise Control (ASCC) during long distance trips and the Surround View Monitor (SVM).

Let’s not forget a full suite of safety gear, including Dual Front Advanced Airbags, Front Seat Mounted Side Airbags, drive’s Knee Airbag, Full-Length Side Curtains Airbags, Lower Anchors and Tethers for children (LATCH), Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), Traction Control System (TCS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) Hill-start Assisting Control (HAC), Tire Pressure Monitoring System and we need to add Kia’s remarkable 10 year/100,000 powertrain warranty as justifying the $36,615 price.
