Peugeot 3008 GT 2025: The Best and Worst of the “Coupe-Style” SUV That Divides Opinions
The new Peugeot 3008 GT arrives with a striking fastback design, advanced technology, and a more powerful engine, but also with some sacrifices in space and comfort.
Since its debut, the Peugeot 3008 has been one of the most recognized SUVs in the European market. In this third generation, launched worldwide two years ago and now in its GT version, the French brand doubles down on a bold fastback, coupe-inspired silhouette—a trend that many carmakers are adopting. However, it’s not just about looks: this model delivers improvements in power, dynamics, and onboard tech, though it also leaves a few things behind that buyers should consider.
Bold Design Meets Futuristic Cabin
The new Peugeot 3008 GT is built on the STLA Medium platform, the same architecture that will underpin the next Jeep Compass. Its exterior stands out with a gradient-effect grille, new Pixel LED headlights, and a coupe-style rear end. Still, this sportier silhouette compromises rear passenger space and trunk capacity, which has shrunk compared to the previous generation. Inside, the Panoramic i-Cockpit with a curved 21-inch HD screen takes center stage, complemented by the Virtual i-Toogles system and a premium atmosphere reinforced by AGR-certified seats with massage functions.
More Power and Refined Driving Dynamics
Under the hood, the 3008 GT carries the familiar 1.6 THP turbo engine, now boosted to 180 hp and 30.5 kgm of torque, paired with a six-speed Tiptronic automatic gearbox. The numbers speak clearly: 0–100 km/h in 8.7 seconds and a top speed of 216 km/h, outperforming its predecessor. On the highway, fuel efficiency shines with averages of up to 17 km/l, while in city driving it proves slightly thirstier. The chassis remains one of its strongest points, offering balanced dynamics that rank it among the most enjoyable SUVs to drive in its class.

Comfort and Safety: A Mixed Bag
Despite its high-tech refinement, the 3008 GT still relies on a semi-rigid rear axle, which falls short of rivals with independent suspension setups. The low-profile tires don’t help either, as they transmit more harshness over uneven surfaces. On the safety front, however, the package is top-tier: six airbags, stability control, and a comprehensive ADAS suite featuring adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, and a high-resolution 360º camera, placing it on par with the best in its segment.
A Premium Image with a Premium Price
The new Peugeot 3008 GT comes with a price tag of $53,200, making it one of the most expensive SUVs in its category. It’s clearly aimed at buyers who value bold design, cutting-edge technology, and superior driving dynamics, even if the trade-off in space and comfort might deter families looking for versatility. In short, the Peugeot 3008 GT is an SUV that impresses with style, power, and technology—but it also proves that the coupe-inspired look comes at the expense of practicality.
