Haval H6 2026: the hybrid SUV that aims to knock out the Toyota RAV4
Great Wall Motor’s global bestseller arrives in Europe with an ambitious proposition: generous space, high-end technology and a price that targets the very heart of the D-segment.
The Haval H6 2026 marks Great Wall Motor’s (GWM) decisive entry into the European market. From January, it will be available in German dealerships, delivering a clear message: to compete head-to-head with established benchmarks such as the Toyota RAV4. This launch is only the beginning of a broader offensive, with up to nine new models planned by 2027, all focused on everyday usability and value rather than niche or exotic concepts.
Big, powerful and aggressively priced

With a starting price of **‚¬31,990 in Germany–reduced to ‚¬28,990 with a promotional discount–the H6 places itself in an uncomfortable position for many traditional rivals. It is a true D-segment SUV, measuring 4.70 metres in length, with a modern design defined by its distinctive front grille, vertical LED daytime running lights, 19-inch alloy wheels and a wide, confident stance that conveys a premium ambition.
Equipment levels are one of the H6’s strongest selling points. Even the Premium trim comes as standard with advanced driver assistance systems, a 360-degree camera, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated seats and steering wheel, keyless entry and a hands-free electric tailgate. The Luxury version raises the bar further with features such as a head-up display, ventilated seats, wireless charging, a panoramic sunroof and an extensive suite of safety aids–items typically associated with higher-priced brands.
Inside, the Haval H6 adopts a clean, digital-focused layout. A 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster is paired with a large 14.6-inch central touchscreen, offering wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Material quality feels solid, passenger space is generous, and the 560-litre boot makes it well suited to family use.
Under the bonnet, the H6 features a self-charging hybrid system combining a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor, delivering a combined 243 hp and 530 Nm of torque to the front wheels. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds, but its real strength lies in efficiency, with a WLTP-rated consumption of 5.9 l/100 km and the ability to drive in electric mode during urban use. Add to that a five-year warranty with no mileage limit, and the Haval H6 presents a compelling mix of technology, equipment and pricing that puts serious pressure on segment leaders.
